The election will be held in Berlin from 8 am to 6 pm on 18 September 2016.
You will receive a letter containing an election notification card (Wahlbenachrichtigung) between 8 and 27 August. If you still have not received a letter by 27 August, please go to your district’s electoral office (Bezirkswahlamt) before 2 September and request assistance.
The number and address of the polling station are printed on the election notification card (Wahlbenachrichtigung).
For the BVV (Bezirksverordnetenversammlung) election, you are entitled to vote at a polling station other than the one specified on your card. However, in order to do so you must apply for a Wahlschein in advance (see postal vote).
You will need to show official proof of identity (ID card or passport).
At the polling station, you will receive an orange ballot (Stimmzettel). On the ballot paper, you are only permitted to put one cross (indicating the party or voters’ association you want to vote for).
