Who is eligible to vote in the BVV elections?
You have the right to vote in your district’s BVV (Bezirksverordnetenversammlung) election if:
- you have the citizenship of a member state of the European Union,
- you are at least 16 years of age on election day (20 September 2026),
- you have been registered in Berlin for at least three months, i.e. by 20 June 2026 at the latest for this election.
If you are eligible to vote, you can also stand as a candidate for the BVV in your district. You must be at least 18 years old and not excluded from passive voting rights.
Do you also have a German passport? Then you can also take part in the elections to the House of Representatives (Abgeordnetenhaus).
