Who are we?
Minor – Projektkontor für Bildung und Forschung e. V. is a non-profit organization based in the district of Berlin Mitte (Moabit) that implements projects focusing primarily on aspects of research and education and for the benefit of various “disadvantaged” groups. We actively contribute to science, advisory services, advanced training. We are also committed to the conception, coordination, implementation and development of projects and networks, and provide research-based support in this context.
One of the aims of Minor’s work is to improve the living situation of people who are discriminated against or at a disadvantage in society and labor markets, such as migrants, socially disadvantaged individuals and disabled persons. Minor’s operations also aim to facilitate changes to social processes and structures in order to promote a valuable and tolerant co-existence in Germany and Europe.
What do we do?
One of our main priorities is to analyze the nature of current migration processes. As part of the project titled Fachkräftesicherung durch Integration zuwandernder Fachkräfte aus dem EU-Binnenmarkt -“Securing skilled personnel through the integration of skilled migrants from within the EU single market” (referred to in short as ‘migration of new labor to Berlin’), we are examining the situations of people who have migrated from EU countries during the last couple of years. With the support of the Senate of Berlin’s Administration for Labor, Integration and Women (Senatsverwaltung für Arbeit, Integration und Frauen), we are developing and testing solutions designed to improve the professional situation and integration of people who are new to Berlin.
One of our current tasks is to launch an information campaign to run alongside the upcoming elections to the district assemblies in Berlin. In cooperation with the Berliner Landeszentrale für politische Bildung (Regional Centre for Civic Education Berlin), we wish to inform you, the European people in Berlin, about your right to take part in major decision-making processes in your district. We trust that the information on this website will be of use to you.
